What is the base ingredient for most potions?
An Awkward Potion: a water bottle brewed with Nether Wart. Almost every useful potion starts there. Weakness is the exception; it is brewed straight from a water bottle with a fermented spider eye.
What does redstone do in brewing?
Redstone dust extends a potion’s duration (for example Night Vision from 3:00 to 8:00). It cannot be combined with glowstone: whichever you add second replaces the first.
What does glowstone do?
Glowstone dust raises the potion to level II, making the effect stronger but usually shorter.
How do you make splash and lingering potions?
Add gunpowder to any potion for a splash version you throw. Then add dragon’s breath to a splash potion for a lingering version that leaves a cloud on the ground; lingering effects last a quarter as long.
